Abstract
This research was conducted at the Department of Tourism Gunung Kidul district at 2016 - 2017. With the objective to determine the effect of motivation and job satisfaction to employee performance. It is intended to improve employee performance in managing the Tourism Office in Gunungkidul tourism potential that each year the number of visitors continues to grow. Analysis of the data in this study using multiple linear analysis, with two independent variables, motivation (X1) and job satisfaction (X2), and the dependent variable is the performance (Y). Data were collected through a closed questionnaire using a Likert scale, with 5 scale and is completed by 30 respondents. In this study, the hypothesis test is also conducted partially or t test and test simultaneous or F test. The results showed that the value of job satisfaction variables (X2) greater appeal motivational variable (X1). It can be seen from the results of t test analysis showed motivation variable (X1) with test coefficient t = 0,597 with significant 0,029 is less than 0.05. Average results of t test analysis showed job satisfaction variable coefficient (X2) with test coefficient t = 3,262 and the significant 0.003 is less than 0.05. This means that factors of job satisfaction is given effect in improving the performance of employees of the Department of Tourism in Gunungkidul. For that, it needs special attention related factors that can affect job satisfaction, so that may have an impact on improving the performance of employees in the district of Gunungkidul tourism department.
