Abstract

The objectives to be achieved from this research are: 1) To identify the factors causing the lack of personal competence of the Yogyakarta Regional Police's Directorate of Information and Technology in the midst of the Covid pandemic. 2) Formulate a strategy to increase personal competence by the Directorate of Information and Technology of the Regional Police of Yogyakarta in the midst of the Covid pandemic. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The results of the study are: 1) The factors causing the inoptimal personal competence of the Yogyakarta Regional Police in the midst of the Covid pandemic are beliefs and values, expertise / skills, experience, personal characteristics, motivation, emotional issues, intellectual capacity. 2) The strategy for increasing personal competence of the Yogyakarta Regional Police Directorate in the midst of the Covid pandemic, namely increasing the capacity of personal human resources with the support of adequate facilities and infrastructure is about organizing education and training that must be carried out elsewhere if the workplace conditions are not possible, trying to provide space and other needs to support the implementation of education and training as well as possible. Usually this is done by renting another place which is deemed eligible; One of the ways to develop competency is through competency-based training. Key words: strategy, competence, intelligence
