Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has infected most of the countries in the world and finally entered Indonesia on March 2, 2020, since then, life in Indonesia has been heavily influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic, including the living conditions of MSME businesses in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). DIY is a tourist area that was significantly affected by the arrival of the virus that started from Wuhan, China, because it can be said that almost no tourists come to DIY, both foreign and foreign tourists. This is due to the restrictions imposed by countries affected by the Covid-19 virus not to travel abroad, including to Indonesia. Local governments in Indonesia also place restrictions on areas to and from areas, especially those with red zones. This research refers to the Business Model Canvas which will be applied to the management of MSMEs in DIY. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the implementation of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) strategy on MSMEs is an effort to survive MSMEs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of MSMEs that were affected was either affected or lightly. moderate or severe greatly affect the DIY economy. Therefore, the author is very interested in raising the theme of Applying the Canvas Model Business Strategy in an Effort to Survive MSMEs in the Future. Covid 19 pandemic in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The data processing method used is through a qualitative methodological approach through BMC Strategy Analysis with nine elements of the business model canvas. The nine elements of the business model canvas are Customer Segment, Value Preposition, Channel, Customer Relationship, Revenue Stream, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partnership, Cost Structure. The source of data that will be used is primary data with interviews assisted using questions through questionnaires submitted online using google form. The questionnaire contains closed questions where in answering the researcher provides guidance and assistance, if someone has difficulty, they will get direction. Respondents will be taken from business actors in the city of Yogyakarta as many as 30 respondents from SMEs. A persuasive approach will be taken in an effort to obtain the necessary data. The findings in this study are that business actors are able to survive during the pandemic by implementing this Business Model Canvas strategy even though they have not yet 100 percent conceptualized this strategy in their business. The results obtained from the answers to the questions in this interview are yes, above 50% of respondents and the highest is 100% of respondents, meaning they carry out activities that are in line with the Business Strategy Model Canvas (BMC) to be able to survive during the Covid-19 pandemic.
