Abstract
The increasing prices of basic necessities often become a problem for families with low or limited incomes. This is coupled with the lifestyle of people who are always competing to show their existence with uncontrolled spending to simply buy things that are less useful for the family's real needs. This condition is experienced by many housewives, including housewives in the Sagan neighborhood, RT 037/008, Terban Village, Gondokusuman District, Yogyakarta City. Awareness of the importance of managing finances is very low so there is often no balance between income and expenses. Of course, the expenses are usually bigger, so this often gives rise to family problems. Housewives who are tasked with managing finances do not have the awareness to manage finances well. This is coupled with minimal knowledge and skills in managing family finances. If allowed to continue, this could become a serious problem that develops in the wider community. The above problem then prompted the STIE Widya Wiwaha Service Proposing Team to offer outreach on how to manage finances well for families, especially for housewives in the Sagan Neighborhood RT 037/008 Terban Village, Gondokusuman District, Yogyakarta City. By providing awareness, knowledge and skills on how to manage family finances well, through simple methods for saving, borrowing and making budgets, it is hoped that it will help families of housewives to achieve financial goals and a better future. The method of implementing activities is by holding training and consultations on Household Financial Management.
