Abstract

Government Performance Accountability is the obligation of a government agency to account for the success or failure of the implementation of goals and objectives that have been set in achieving the organization's mission. Scope of Government Performance Accountability done on all aspects of activities, generally includes aspects of managerial, technical and financial. Performance (performance) in the simplest sense is performance. Rue & Byars (1991) defines performance as the level of achievement of results, this means the performance is the level of achievement of organizational goals. For any organization, measurement and performance evaluation is an activity that can determine the success and failure of an organization to stakeholders. Knowing the rate of failure and success that will encourage government agencies to pay more attention to the needs of the community served and demanding improvements and public services. Effectiveness of performance measurement will become a reality, if it can be formulated and set of performance indicators that can describe the level of achievement of the vision, mission, objectives and performance targets. The performance evaluation is a method and process of assessment and implementation of the tasks a person or group of people or work units within an organization in accordance with performance standards or objectives set in advance. The performance evaluation is the most fair in giving rewards or awards to workers. The purpose of performance evaluation is to ensure the achievement of the organizations goals and objectives, and also to know the position of the organization and the level of achievement of the objectives of the organization, especially to determine if there is a delay or deviation in order to be corrected, so that the target or goal is reached. The performance evaluation results can be used for multiple usage. Keywords: Performance is said to be good if it is able to achieve the standards prescribed
